During my second weekend in Atlanta, I explored one of Atlanta’s most well-known parks, Piedmont Park. It is also conveniently located on the beltline which circles the entire city of Atlanta. The Beltline connects Piedmont Park, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Ponce City Market, and Krog Street Market.
I parked at Ponce City Market and took the stairs up to the beltline. I love Ponce City Market and have written many articles about it. However, the attraction was very different due to social-distancing. Many of the stores required masks and only allowed five customers in at a time. In addition, most if not all restaurants were only to-go.
It took me about 30 minutes to walk from Ponce city market to Piedmont Park. During this walk, I saw many unique murals and flowers. There were so many bikers and runners that it was actually a bit difficult to stay on the side lines and take pictures. I absolutely loved the view of the city skyline though.
When I reached Piedmont Park, I saw that there were definitely a lot less people. Many families were having picnics.
This was such a refreshing walk and I am very lucky that it is located so close to me in Midtown, Atlanta.
