This post is a continuation of my Miami travel article. Here is what my dad and I did during the second half of our March 2019 trip.
One of the best meals I had during the entire trip was at this Greek restaurant in Ocean Drive in South Beach. I absolutely loved how intricate the details were and how delicious the dates were on top of the pita bread.
Of course, no trip to Miami is complete with a trip to the beach. I usually love the beach but I thought that South Beach was a bit overrated. There were so many college students and finding parking was horrific. The water was honestly so cold so I just ended up chasing the waves.
During our trip, my dad and I took three day trips. Our first one was to the Everglades. My dad honestly loved this day trip more than me as he was able to go bird watching and take beautiful pictures of the swamp. My favorite part was that we were able to go on an alligator tour in a boat. We were were able to see the alligators in the swamp.
Our second day trip was at Bizcayne National Park. This was a day trip we booked through a third party travel company. They took us on an hour boat ride to this island called Boca Chita. It was quite isolate but absolutely breathtaking. We explored the lighthouse and admired the clear blue water.
Our third day trip was to Key West. I remember taking a picture to symbolize us being at the southernmost tip of the United States. I tried a key lime pie popsicle and we ate our last meal in Miami overlooking a memorable Key West sunset.
