- Dedicated-Carly Rae Jepsen
I honestly feel like this is the most underrated album of 2019. Many people know Carly Rae Jepsen as the one hit wonder of the song, “Call Me Maybe”. However, she is much more than that. She is truly a pop queen with albums like Emotion and Emotion Side B. However, I fell in love the most with Dedicated. Songs like “Julien” and “Too Much” always raise my spirits. “Party for One” was my breakup anthem after I experienced the worst heartbreak of my life. In addition, I had the opportunity to see Carly Rae live at the Van Buren in Phoenix this summer. She sounds even better live than on the radio. She had the most sparkly costumes and put her all into dancing and engaging with the audience. After the concert, Dedicated was on repeat for the next week.
2. Happiness Begins-Jonas Brothers
This album, in contrast to Dedicated, is much more about the love behind relationships. This album was the Jonas Brother’s reunion and comeback album after their decade long hiatus. I have to admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Jonas Brothers when they were younger. But I now completely understand why teenagers fan girl over them and wish they were a part of the Jonas sisters. My favorites from this album include “Hesitate” and “Rollercoaster”. After listening to this album over and over again, my expectations for my future boyfriends have been raised so high.
3. No. 6 Collaboration Project-Ed Sheeran
I am generally not the biggest Ed Sheeran fan but this album changed my opinion completely. I love how each song is him collaborating with a different artists and each convey a different message. I love “Beautiful People” featuring Khalid and “Antisocial” with Travis Scott along with “South of the Border” with Cardi B and Camila Cabello. There are songs for every mood.
